Keeping preschoolers occupied while older siblings are in school can be a challenge—this free matching games printable activity pack makes it easy.

It’s hard to believe, but back-to-school is here. We’re starting in just a few days, and that means finding ways to engage the youngest children while older kids follow their lessons.
Keeping a preschooler busy during school time has always been tricky for me, so this year I created a set of printables designed specifically for that gap in the day.
This fun, free back-to-school matching games printable pack is ideal for preschool-aged children who need independent, hands-on activities while other kids are in class—whether you’re doing traditional school or homeschooling.
Without a playmate, little ones can demand a lot of attention, so these printables are perfect for a busy bag, quiet box, or the table. They keep small hands and active minds happily occupied while you get work done.

This activity won’t create a huge mess—a real win for parents. If you want more low-mess ideas, search for other mess-free toddler activities to expand your rotation.

Games Included In Free Preschool Matching Games Printable Pack
This pack includes several simple, engaging activities. Below are descriptions and preparation tips for each game.
Matching Clip Cards
A hands-on activity that helps children practice matching skills while feeling like play.

To prepare: Print on paper or card stock and laminate for longevity. Cut out the cards, leaving a small laminate border.
To use: Have your child place a clothespin on the small picture that matches the large picture on each card.
School Supply Memory Matching Games Printable
A classic memory game that strengthens recall and concentration.

To prepare: Print on card stock or thick paper so cards aren’t see-through. Laminate for durability and cut out each card.
To use: Lay cards face down. Players take turns flipping two cards. Matching pairs are kept by the player, and they get another turn. If cards don’t match, flip them back and the next player goes. Continue until all matches are found; the player with the most matches wins.
School Supply Spin And Cover
A spinner-based game that works for solo play or with a partner.

To prepare:
- Print on paper or card stock and laminate.
- Poke a hole in the center of the spinner.
- Thread a paper clip onto a paper fastener and push the fastener through the hole.
- Spread the fastener prongs on the back and leave about 1/4″ of space above the paper so the spinner turns freely.
To use: Spin and cover a picture that matches the spinner result using small markers like mini erasers. When the board is full, the player with the most pieces wins.
School Supply Spin And Graph
Add a simple math element to the spinner game with this graphing version.

To prepare: Print on paper or card stock and laminate. Create the spinner following the same steps as Spin & Cover.
To use: Spin and color one square on the graph for each spin result. Continue until one column is full, then count and record how many times each school supply was spun.
