Why These Honey Garlic Pork Chops Stand Out

After many requests for a pork version of my popular honey garlic chicken, I developed this recipe to deliver the same crave-worthy glaze with pork chops. The combination of sweet honey, aromatic garlic, and a touch of acid creates a perfectly balanced glaze that highlights juicy pork. Searing the chops in a skillet and finishing under the broiler gives tender meat with slightly caramelized edges for the best texture and flavor.

Easy Honey Garlic Pork Chops: Key Ingredients

ingredients laid out on a green background in white bowls: honey, garlic, apple vinegar, butter, salt, pepper, oil, garlic powder, chicken broth and pork chops

The magic of these pork chops comes from a short list of everyday ingredients that combine into an unforgettable sauce. Fresh garlic provides aroma and depth, honey adds sweetness and a glossy finish, and rice wine or apple cider vinegar brightens the glaze for balance.

  • Pork Chops: Bone-in or boneless both work. Boneless cooks faster and more evenly; bone-in adds flavor and retains moisture.
  • Honey: Creates the sticky, sweet glaze that pairs beautifully with garlic and savory pan flavors.
  • Fresh Garlic: Minced garlic gives this recipe its bold, aromatic profile—don’t substitute with too little garlic or you’ll miss the characteristic flavor.

  1. Coat the pork chops: Return the chops to the pan and turn to coat thoroughly in the glaze. Simmer 2–3 minutes so the sauce clings and becomes glossy. Spoon sauce over the chops as they cook for extra coverage.

  3. Make the sauce in the pan, baste chops, then bake 10–15 minutes until done.
  4. Broil 1–2 minutes to caramelize the glaze if desired.

Sauce consistency: Add 1–2 tablespoons water or broth if the sauce becomes too thick. Deglaze the pan: Scrape browned bits into the sauce for extra flavor. Cooking time: Thicker chops may need extra time—use a thermometer to avoid overcooking.
