- 1 lbs lean ground beef
- 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 1 TBS olive oil (15ml)
- 1 tsp brown monkfruit sweetener or brown sugar substitute
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes adjust spice to taste
Instructions
-
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and season lightly with salt and pepper. Break the meat into small pieces with a wooden spoon and cook until no pink remains. Drain any excess fat if desired.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and olive oil. Add the sweetener, onion powder, garlic powder, basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to combine.

Bring the sauce to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly and flavors meld. Taste and adjust salt, sweetener, or red pepper flakes as needed.
-
Serve the sauce hot over your favorite keto pasta substitute, zucchini noodles, or roasted vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
