It still feels like summer some days — I leave the patio doors open, sit outside with a book and enjoy the warm air while I can. The season will change soon, but evenings like these make it easy to pretend it’s August again. Drinking a cold Pomegranate Appletiser mocktail in October helps keep that late-summer feeling alive.

What’s Pomegranate Appletiser like?

Pomegranate Appletiser blends the sweet, slightly tart flavour of pomegranate with the crisp, familiar taste of apple. It’s pleasant on its own, lightly fizzy and fruity, but it also makes a great base for a simple mocktail when you want something a bit more special.

Use frozen grapes instead of ice cubes

Instead of ice cubes, frozen grapes are a nice alternative: they chill the drink without diluting it, and they’re a tasty nibble afterward — almost like a little sorbet. You can freeze other fruit too, but grapes freeze particularly well. To boost the pomegranate flavour I like to stir in a little pomegranate molasses and a touch of honey. If you don’t have molasses, a fruit cordial or just the honey will work fine. Or simply enjoy the Pomegranate Appletiser on its own for an effortless drink.

Ingredients

  • 275 ml Pomegranate Appletiser
  • ¼ lemon juiced
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 teaspoon pomegranate molasses
  • 10 grapes frozen
  • ¼ apple to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Put the grapes in the freezer a few hours or a day before making the mocktail.
  • Squeeze the lemon. If using apple slices, rub the lemon over the apple edges to help prevent browning.
  • In a tall glass, combine the Pomegranate Appletiser, lemon juice, honey and pomegranate molasses. Stir until the honey and molasses dissolve so they don’t settle on the bottom.
  • Add the frozen grapes and garnish with apple slices if you like. Serve immediately.
